I thought that when you purchased jreviews you got an unencrypted version of the front end. I have trouble with ioncube loader so I was really depending on that to be able to get it up and running. Is there somewhere else I am supposed to download the unencrypted version? The ones in the download area are all ioncube/zend encrypted...

None of the files used in the frontend are encoded in either version. Which files are you looking at?

In the archive package_jreviews_2.0_J1.5_unzip_first.zip there is a file called com_jreviews_2.0_J1.5_ioncube.zip and one for zend 3.3. There is no version that is not encrypted.

As you said before, you get a version that is not encoded in the frontend, the administration is always encoded and that is what is says in the trial description:

Quote
"The trial is fully encoded, except for the template files. When you buy the full version you will get unencoded files for the front-end of the application."

Since some of the admin files are still encoded that is why you still need to choose which encoding option you want to use.

I guess there ios nothing I can do except try and get the ioncube loader working then. Is the Zend loader a better option?

Sorry about the confusion. I wouldn't say either is a better option. There are two options because some hosts refuse to install one or the other and other hosts already come with loaders installed for at least one of the options.
