I enter all data for a review, and click submit. The buttons gray out, and the status indicator turns, but no review is submitted.

This can be seen at www.rpgpdfreviews.com

There is a conflict with the SMF_header_include bot. How can this be corrected? This should be fixed. Even this board used to sell your product uses the SMF and joomlahacks bridge.

You  might have to do something similar to what is mentioned in this post:

http://www.mehdiplugins.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2366#2366

Try finding a constant defined by SMF and use that instead.

The conflict is with the xajax bot which is used to ensure compatibility with other extensions using xajax. Unfortunately there's several that don't use it so the fixes need to be done to the xajax bot itself.

For a second there I thought I had replied in Spanish...

You are not using the Joomlahacks bridge, are you?

You can try following the advice in the post I mentioned before but change it to something like this:

Quote
if (!defined('SMF') && $_REQUEST['option'] != 'com_smf'){
   $_MAMBOTS->registerFunction( 'onAfterStart', '_LOAD_XAJAX' );
}

or this:

Quote
if ($_REQUEST['option'] != 'com_smf'){
   $_MAMBOTS->registerFunction( 'onAfterStart', '_LOAD_XAJAX' );
}

That's in file /mambots/system/xajax.system.php

I hope that works for you.

Yes. I'm using the latest joomlahacks bridge.
-SMF 1.1 Joomla 1.1.6 Bridge [ www.joomlahacks.com ]
-SMF Login 2.0.3 [ www.joomlahacks.com ]
-SMF Recent Topics 2.0 [ www.joomlahacks.com ]
-SMF Who's Online 2.0 [ www.joomlahacks.com ]
-SMF Discuss Bot [ www.joomlahacks.com ]

ok, I asked because when I looked for the bot in their forum they mention it's an Ortio bridge file. Did any of the 2 fixes work?

i'm having this problem, and no, neither worked for me. Ajax is working fine for Jom Comment, and in the about jreviews page, the red x is now a green check, after getting the encoding setting right...and the other fix linked to was applied...so I should be able to post reviews....yet, it hangs...

Unfortunately I am not able to do any testing on this until I get back from holiday. I thought this issue was resolved because I never received a response. Maybe someone in the Joomlahacks forum has experienced a similar issue. Is the Jomcomment component using xajax as well?

yes it does. It's working fine. The admin pages, saving stuff on them - which I assume uses ajax, it saves in them. settings, etc. everything works but entering new books or editing existing ones, then, it just hangs in Firefox. in internet explorer, it gives an error I have found: Stack Overflow at line: 531

Hope that helps find the problem.

I've got the same problem over here, only I'm not running SMF. What is interesting is that the submit will hang if you try to include at least one image to upload.  However, the description field gets posted and only 1 of the images. If in another window you load up the review list, the review will show up, but no photos and no custom fields.  Leave out images and the review posts fine.

Any help is appreciated..

Thanks

That is my current situation as well. Personally, I turned off the user upload, because I have all the covers of the comics we review already in another folder for the virtuemart, so I moved them to a place I could attach them via the content management in Joomla, so I only have to have the images in one place. It works for us...but my set-up does have that problem as described...if I needed to let reviewers upload covers, it'd be a pain.
