Interesting idea, its not quite what you are after i think but have you had a look at jReviews Everywhere + Fireboard. or it may have just been jReviews + Fireboard.
This lets you assign a Fireboard category to a direction / section / category in jreviews, and when a new post is made in that jreviews directory, it is created in the Fireboard area set in the back end. You can then place a link in the jReviews template that says something like "Discuss this product / Service in the forums" and when you click that link it takes you to the created topic for that product / service.
You can also have it copy the introtext or information into the first forum post.
I do believe that in the future there might be talk about having a discussions based area for each product in the actually product page, as part of jreviews but i could be wrong. I think this would be a good and a bad thing. In terms of larger sites it may be added load to have forum / discussion which is loaded when the page is loaded if there are alot of discussions going on, so it may be better to even link to a seperate discussion area / page. But that is a fair way in the future.
Here is an example of the jReviews + Fireboard from a site on the Showcase
http://www.travelshopireland.com/restaurant-directory/clare-restaurants/julianos-restaurant-at-the-ashford-court-hotel-ennis.htmlAt the bottom of the page you will see Comments (1), if you click on that it then links you to the Fireboard Forum topic for that entry
Hope that enlightens a little bit
