I'm a little confused on which SEF component to use with jreviews 2.x. It's not working with sh404SEF, and I've read in the forums about an extension to add to sh404SEF - but I don't see this file in my jreviews archive. Is there a better SEF component to use with jreviews?

I've tested it and created plugins for both SEF Advance and sh404sef. There's an article in the KB on what you need to do for sh404sef. If you have a specific problem, please specify what Joomla version you are using and the problem, or even better submit a ticket with access to your site so I can see it.

thanks - I found the article. My issue is that I don't see the file "com_jreviews.php.sh404sef_plugin" in the latest build of the jreviews 2.x that I downloaded. Is there someplace else to get this file?

thanks,

- R

The file is not easily findable in the zip. It will be in the /components/com_jreviews folder after installation.

Can you let me know if you have success installing sh404SEF and getting it working with the module?
I have it installed on J1.5.3 but its not working.

I do have an open ticket already though with full access granted, so hope to hear from you soon there too.

I pretty much gave up on sf404sef, now I'm trying SEFadvance - I've read there is support from jreviews 2.x with this, but I can't seem to find the "sef_ext.php" file that I'm supposed to use. Any ideas of where to find it?

The only support I know of was the sef_ext for sh404SEF, which you can find in the KB here:
http://support.reviewsforjoomla.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=40&nav=0,18

If you have any joy with SEFadvance let me know. Wink

You don't need to look for it, it's already in the /components/com_jreviews folder where it's supposed to be. Here's a newer unreleased version which fixes a bug.

They have a free trial as well.

So does SEF Advance work out of the box then with JReviews?
If it does I may well be tempted to just try it instead of this messing with sh404sef constantly...

Sorry, maybe I'm confused - do I have to do anything with that file? Because right now, I have SEF Advance installed and none of my jreviews urls are working. I'm just looking for some kind of SEF solution for jreviews that put the titles into the url.

Right now, with SEF advance, I can click through all the categories, etc - but when I actually try to click on a review itself, the url changes, but I still get the category page instead of the review display.

Any help on where to look would be great.

thanks,

Did you rename htaccess.txt to .htaccess? SEF Advance automatically creates sef urls for content links without intervention from jReviews. The sef_ext file is only for the urls that have com_jreviews in it.

If you send me access info via ticket I can check what you have.

I believe this issue was resolved. There were menus and sections with the same titles and SEF Advance doesn't like that.
