Hey guys...

i'm the admin of www.racekites.com. This is a power kite community that has a huge amount of content in the form of reviews.

The current site is asp based and has been written by myself, therefore is a custom solution.  I would like to move to the joomla CMS and move all my content across, however I'm looking for a reviews component that I can utilise.

Currently any registered member is able to submit a review. This review then goes to a holding area where it is checked and published. Each review can be commented upon, given a score etc... The latest reviews are listed on the site's home page...

After researching joomla it looks like there are many options for some good functionality, however I've really been stuck on the reviews section... Will jReviews give me a similar functionality to what I currently have ?

Cheers
A

You can do something like that, but you might have to tweak a few things here and there to achieve the same functionality. For instance, what you call a review is "content" or a "listing" in jReviews and you can attach an editor review to it or create custom fields for content to allow the submitter to rate it separately from the rest of the users.

Users can then offer their own reviews consisting of both comments and ratings, both required. THere's no comment only option.

I recommend you download and test the trial to get a feel for what you can do.
