jReviews runs in most configurations where you can run Joomla as long as you can run the ionCube or Zend encoded files. If you are having administration issues, the best thing you can do to get help is to submit a ticket with site access. Also, make sure you enable display of errors for your server so that it's possible to see the actual error instead of a blank page. In the administration you can easily do this by adding this line in index2.php in the administrator folder after the <?php opening tag:

ini_set('display_errors','On');

I've added this text but my blank screen is not changed. No error, no text, only a white back end!

Not sure what that means, but did you get it resolved? Where you able to see the actual error?
