Hi,

Im wondering if there's a way to setup a custom field to output to the Intro Text of a content item (which I currently have set to be hidden)

What I want to do is be able to Tag a bunch of items to group them into a "theme" that spans accross the current categories/sections. I then want to be able to search for my "tag" and use that search results page, as the page for my "theme" ..its kind of a way around being able to search for meta tags.

is this a reasonable thing to try to do?

I am not sure what you mean by "output to the intro text". Custom fields can be shown in search result lists as well.
