offline version of joomla on my LAN running my site for testing.

I only amended the com_content.html so copied this from store folder from 1.2.6 to a location, followed the upgrade instructions.

Copied my I only com_content.html files back into the right location and pointed jReview config towards the store but the content item is subletly different ... few examples

field names (content and reviews rating) are in UPPER case, average user rating box is yellow not blue, main content item image is twice (approx) the size of before ?  custom fields enabled for template are shown beneath instead of below main image.

I then completely removed the contents of both the default and store tmpl folder and pasted in the files from the component zip (out of the box) and then put my com_content.html into store and the result is the same.

I only amended the com_content.html to give what i needed and i`m far from being an expert on templates/joomla/html/web design so what has happened ?

I would need to see images to understand what you are saying. There are no intentional changes in templates, but you are really better off re-doing your changes to the most current template file so you get any additional functionality like favorites for example. Also remember there's a css file associated with the content page.
