Hi

I we talked about that before (via e-mail). I just copy it here as a note, I hope you don't mind...

Is it possible to show some statistics? Ie. not only the highest overall
ranking but also the highest rankings for each criteria and further not only
over every entry but also for every category (product-group ie.), everthing
clean and neat presented for the user to find the best product or
whatsoever...

This is, at least for me, the ultimate killer-feature  ;-)

Cheers

This might be a long term-feature, don't count on it anytime soon.

Just to get an idea what you understand under "long-term", how long is long for you?  Grin

It means I know this is a nice to have capability, but it's not even on the radar. If you must have it, don't count on it any time soon. I have too many things to take care of before to even have an idea of actual timeline.

Hello Alejandro,

Sorry for restarting an old topic but I agree with squirrel that this feature is very important for jreviews.

In the book 'the long tail' by 'chris anderson' it is described very clearly why. I recommend you to read it, it is really about your core business.

I will try to explain in a few words. When enabling this feature people will browse through products based on the different criteria. And they will discover more niches than before. And because of that, sales of these products will go up.

If you want I'm willing to discuss futher in PM.

I know that having stats and search based on criteria is important (and nice), but jReviews is not capable of handling it due to the current database structure. The only way to implement this is to change it and that is a big change. I had initially planned to make a DB change, before rewriting the whole code for 2.0, but decided to do it the other way around because it was going to be easier for users to migrate to a new codebase using the same database, plus users really wanted compatibility with J1.0.x, J1.5.x and Mambo.

Once I finish converting everything to 2.0 and a few months have passed to determine stability the next major task is the database re-design and that is no easy task!
