I have set up three different reviews for Hotels, Restaurants and FBO's (Fixed Based Operators at airports) and integrated Google Maps, with directions bubble, right on the review pages for each type of review.  My site is:

www.pilotspeak.net

You will have to register to see them (It's free) and once logged in, you can click on the links for Hotels, Restaurants, FBO's to see the reviews and maps to see how they look and work.

Feel free to contact me via my website (Admin) if you have any questions or comments...or you can leave them here.

Many thanks to Alejandro who helped me a lot with the initial setup of things I didn't understand.  His support alone is worth the price of the program!   Smiley

Oh, also...PLEASE tell me if you think it could be better or simpler or easier or whatever in ANY way.  I'm not the greatest at all this stuff!  LOL!

Well done on a fantastic site, the theme, community builder and everything link together very nicely to create a very nice website.

I have one suggestion for you, In your restaurants section, you have a few custom fields, like Type of Food, i don't know if you thought of not using it for a specific reason, but it might be a good idea to make Type of Food a click2search field, this can be done by changing the options of that custom field. Whilst not 100% necessary, as you build on content in the site it might help your users to narrow down to a specific type of food pretty easily. I know you can do this in Search, or Advanced Search, but its my personal opinion that Click2Search makes it much easier...

Once again well done on a fantastic site, just a quick question, how did you integrate google maps into your site, i am guessing that given that you have a map loaded on your page, you probably have some custom fields not showing up, like latitude and Longitude  that feed these values into the google maps application, am i right with this one?, do you have to enter the latitude and longitude by hand or did you find a way of automating it?

click2search actually screws with the google maps some...I can experiment with that though.  Thanks for the tip.

The google map takes the address from the address field automatically!  You can see how to do this and integrate it here:  http://tech.reumer.net/google-maps/documentation-of-plugin-googlemap/using-google-maps-with-jreviews.html

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the tip on Google maps, that would be so much easier than using latitude and longitude on my site!.... Cheers...

In terms of the click2search, it probobly only needs to be done on something like Type of Food, not really suburb, because you could put a search box in somewhere to search for the suburb or something like that. The other option if click2seach stuffs up the google maps is to make the Type of Food field a select, or multiple select field, and then use the jReviews Fields Module, you can set it to show up a drop down list of the values of a specific field, so you could do the same with Type of food somewhere, and providing you made it Select or Multiple select it would solve the problem without needing click2search i think....

Well done on a great site!

A quick question for you. The mambot / plugin component you use for google maps on your site takes address information you were saying.... In terms of the address i would assume that the component would take the address and geocode it on the fly to work out the lattitude and longatude of the address? would i be correct in assuming this. I know it is wishful thinking but i guess i was worried that with google maps there is a limit to how many geocodes you can do in 24hr periods, so assuming you had a very very busy site it would theoritically be possible to get yourself banned from the site doing something like this yes?

Has anyone got any more information on this. Has anyone used a plugin that geocodes the information once and then stores it in a database, or have most people gone with either geocoding on the fly, or just getting lattitude and longatude information and storing it in the database?
