Can comment system (jom comment is what I use) be enabled for basic content reviews?  Some are asking if comments can be enabled with user reviews - I'm mainly just asking if it can be enabled via primary content post?  does it need mambot or something?

I am not sure what you asking. You want the comment form to appear at the time of submitting a content? That's not possible.

Yeah - I'm just asking if/how the comment form can appear like it would VIEWING any normal content post.  Basically, I'd like to use it for the "custom fields" - but have everything else operate like joomla would normally.

Users should be able to "comment" on my jreview post, right?

It will continue working as it works now, you don't need to do anything special. jReviews uses Joomla content and content bots will continue working.

thanks for the patience/reply - I guess I should have said that the comment form does NOT show up currently - I'm assuming this shouldn't, be the case, right?  If it "should" be showing up - I'll try and fix.
Thanks

Try changing the order of the mambots maybe.

Just thought I would add that I've been using Jom Comment Pro on my site with jReviews for a long time and both work together perfectly.  I've also never found any conflicts between the two components and the template system jReviews uses does not affect the template/css system that Jom Comment uses.

If you would like to see them working together you can on my site by going to http://www.classicamiga.com and going into the game or demo sections and looking at any of the entries.  The jom comments section appears under the main jreviews content on each page.

And before I used the commercial Jom Comment I was using the free Jos Comment and that also worked perfectly well with jReviews.

Hi,

I just wanted to clarify that I'm understanding this correctly as this was also one of my questions. I'm not wanting to connect the program to the forum, but I do want people to be able to use emotion smilies when they submit a review.

So, if I use a plugin such as Jom comment or AKO, that will be available to the person leaving the review? Thanks.

The 2 systems will remain independent of each other and you still will not be able to submit a jReviews review using emoticons.

Hi Alejandro,

That was a quick reply!  Cheesy So the only way to provide access to smilies is if a person leaves a "comment" by using jReviews JoomlaBoard. But, if I didn't want to use jReviews Joomlaboard, one of the other plugins for comments could be utilized. Hope I'm not confusing things.

No, they can also leave a "comment" using Jomcomment. This comment remains independent of jReviews is what I am trying to say. You can see it on Harrison's site.

The first time I looked at his site I didn't see one like that, but now after I looked again I see what you're saying. Thank you, that answered my question.
