I read through some subscription related threads and I have a question on the same lines.

We would like to set up an option for jreviews in a way like we would like to charge only the business listing owners in case if they want to write any reviews defending their reviews.

For example lets say we have the following list of Joomla users who are also JReviews users.

User1 (Registered JReviews User)
User2 (Registered JReviews User)
User3 (Registered JReviews User)
Buser1 (Owner of Foo Restaurant)
Buser2 (Owner of Boo Restuarant)

We would like to provide options to Buser1 & BUser2 where they can buy credits from us in case if they see bad reviews against them? they can defend their reviews.

Given the fact that we can add them as editors in JReviews I can handle them in jreviews nicely. But how do I handle this kind of subscription?

Any ideas and thoughts and also recommendation of products that helps me in this will be really useful.

Thanks

How would you go about defending a review, subscription or not? I mean what action is taken? Edit the review? Edit the content?

The only way I can think is to use JACLPlus and the AEC subscription component (I think that's what it's called). You set the editing or new submit rights for a new group you create with JACLPlus and then you "promote" the user to this group upon successful subscription. However, whatever action you allow for this users is not limited to a one-time event. A person will be able to edit a review or entry as long as he belongs to the "promoted" group.

The other alternative is Joomla Equipments subscription component which allows you to restrict access to a specific url. This would work in the case of editing an entry, you could limit to a one time action.

I know these are not the best alternatives. Unfortunately jReviews is not yet there, in terms of having a better integration or built-in payment/subscription capabilities.

To answer your above question.

Business owner should be able to edit the content (he can edit his listing only). In order to edit he has to be a paid subscriber.

Business owner should be able to defend his review as long as he is a paid subscriber. Please look at the following and let me know if this is feasible in JReviews or not.

Restaurants-Fusion---FOO Restaurant

Name:           Foo
Address:       XXX
Description:  XXX

Reviews

We love this place -- Unpaid : Free : Registered User

Great Service, lots of Choice-- Unpaid : Free : Registered User

I wouldn't recommend, expensive compared to others, crowded-- Unpaid : Free : Registered User

Hello Sir we revised the prices off late, expanded for more room and retrained the staff, you might want to revisit again and try out... -- Business owner : Paid : Subscribed: Registered [/b]

NOTE:

It will be cool if JReviews can change the colors of Business owners 'reviews' so that it catches end users attention.

for now If I can get coloring option I can keep it simple by using some 3rd party tools for the business owners to buy credits from us.

This is not functionality built into jReviews. jReviews allows you to define which groups can perform certain actions on a very detailed level and for a lot of actions. But you will need 3rd party components to get the users into those access groups (JACLPLus + some other subscription component).

A review must have a rating, so allowing an owner to response is not a review, it's a response and it's not something you can do with jReviews at the moment.
