Title: Improving site performance using compression
Post by: andreasa on February 05, 2008, 09:02:35 AM
I discovered this script, made a compression on css, page and/or script:

PHPSpeedy (http://aciddrop.com/)

Is external Joomla, you can use also with drupal, WP and Mambo (not tested but I'm pretty sure).
Need a little modification to the index.php file on root directory (just add 2 line of code).

I tested it on Joomla 1.0.13 + Jreviews and looks fine.
Is free but if you like it remember to offer a beer ;)

I discovered a little problem with fireboard. (only with version 1.0)
When you are in the forum it's showed an error.

There is also a problem with CB Captcha, be careful.

now is available also a plug-in in order to avoid to edit the index.php file: Joomla PHP Speedy Plugin (http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,4146/Itemid,35/).

I've found some problem using Php speedy and Page Cache 2.0 with Jreview 1.210.
Ps for Andreasa: Use you some cache programs ( for example PageCahce or Ircmaxell) with Php speedy? Have U problem with JReviews?
Thanks  ;)

No I don't use any cache programs.

With the last version of Jreviews there is a conflict with 1 javascript.
So you need to disable to compress javascript.

At the end I removed it from my site.  :(

Ciao Andrea, grazie per la risposta.
Io ho provato a togliere php speedy e a lasciare solo Page Cache e con JR funziona tutto correttamente a quanto pare.

No no assolutamente non statico, i miei utenti caricano sempre nuovi articoli con Jreview.
Hai disabilitato tutto cosa? PhpSpeedy?  :-\
