Title: Accessing configuration from backend makes site lock up
Post by: maestroc on January 20, 2008, 09:05:41 PM
This is a very recent issue that may be related to a page caching component interfering with jReviews.  I will post the details first and see if anyone else has had this problem.

When attempting to access the configuration from the back end the entire site locks up.  I am given a blank page in the back end while users attempting to access the front end get a 500 server error.

This occurs even when the page caching component has been turned off.

In order to unlock things I have to "stop" the back end web browsing session.  When I attempt to return to the back end I have been logged out (even though it has only been a few seconds).

Any ideas?

EDIT  SOLVED:
I figured it out.  Apparently the key for the full version of jreviews never saved properly.  The installation had been running on the trial version key.  The expiration of that key coincided with the same day that I installed the other components so they were not responsible.

Just a note, I never noticed the mosmessage that the license file had not saved because I had been using Firefox.  it was only when using IE that I noticed the error message about the bad license key.

Please uninstall the caching component in question and see if it is in fact causing this.
