Hi travisdh!
I'm not particularly fond of the template you’ve chosen. With the many options of templates out there I know that there are many more templates that will suit your needs better.

As regards the specific changes to your template:
  • Remove the Rockettheme logo at the bottom left
  • Remove the XHTML validation logo/link (since the site is not valid)
  • Remove the CSS Validation logo/link (same reason)
  • I’d like to see the site’s purpose stated more clearly, perhaps underneath where you have your middle modules now.
  • Your site is really broad (auto’s to house). I appreciate how much time it takes to create such a broad site, but simple is good.

I’d like to share some links with you that helped me, during many site redesigns:

Hope that helps you out!

Great effort so far.
Keep on truckin.

Thanks for all the great suggestions, very appreciated. I really struggled with the templates, because i am after something simple as it is such a broad site, yet something that looks good. Have you got any suggestions on other templates that might look good?

I will remove some of those logo's down the bottom, being so new to templates and the whole joomla thing in general i have really thrown myself in the deep end lol, thats why these forums are fantastic, its easy to learn so much through them.

I know what you mean by being in the “deep end”. With websites everyone is continually learning.

Here are some links to some popular template clubs:

Personally I’ve found the templates that do not heavily rely on Mootools, will fare better in the long run. Many template clubs code scripts, which you can turn off, into their templates. Just remember that if you want to push traffic to your site, the size of the site does matter, and that many scripts will interfere with various combinations of components.

Go here if you have any other questions about templates:

The Joomla community is great, and I’m sure anyone there would be more than happy to answer your specific questions.

Kind regards,
