Hi, we are just looking into Jreviews currently we have downloaded the demo, and should have it up and going over the next couple of days.

Will Jreviews work with K2 content as this is a big issue for us as we are extensively using K2 content.

Cheers for your help

I haven't looked at K2 integration. I am working through some bug reports and other minor improvements and I'll add this to my list of thinks to look at. I could try to have an answer by end of next week.

Hi Alejandro, after looking more at your component I think it is going to replace our use of K2 for what we were thinking of using K2 for. We will still use K2 content within the site so being able to carry across a review system would still be nice.

I have a couple of more questions if you don't mind.

We have built an extensions directory using Mosets Tree, (this is all for the same site) from what I read am I right in thinking we can replace the single star rating with a multiple rating system? and it will integrate easily, we have made custom templates for Mosets Tree will we need to modify them in any way?

2. We have only just got the demo version up and running, had to upgrade our php and then iconcube spat it, now it's all good and running again. If we set about creating content with the demo to attain that it will actually do what we want it to, and then we were to purchase the version, will what we have created be lost, or is it a simple licence restriction being lifted.

The component is huge and with never using it before a bit of a learning curve we are on, is it possible to extend the original 15 days if we need, it is not a very long time if you take into consideration, learning how to use it, then to create some content then output it as well. Especially as this is an internal project so we must spend most normal weekly working hours on clients work, or they get a little ****ty Smiley

Cheers for your quick reply, so far pretty impressed with the component.

Sorry to bombard you with questions but after setting up a basic listing it has generated a few questions.

I did not realise that some fields were default, so bare with me.

The site in question at the moment will have two sections that I can completely layout with Jreviews by the look of it. Now when I went to open a listing I saw that image upload is included in the default template, what is needed to further customise, for example section one will only have two images to display, lets say a thumb that will go into listing summary and a main image that will be displayed on listing detail. (these images will be separate not a resize)

The second section of the site is far more complicated, this will have a series of images that load on the listing detail page, a main large one, and say 4 thumbnails that will open in a light box.

Both these two sections of the site will require completely different templates as the displayed data is very different. Is this possible? Is there provisions within the module for running different templates?

Sorry for all the questions just this is a large development and is quite painful to find the right module to begin with, until I saw how your module worked and that is has CCK capability we were just looking for a good rating system and were going to use K2 as I stated earlier.

What would probably be good is if we could build our own, or modify the existing add listing template and duplicate it into two or more separate templates depending on what section it is being used for.

I hope that is possible for you to understand it is hard to convey the needs we have

That's right. You just need to add the integration code for the Everywhere addon in the mtree template files. I have examples of the template files with the code in the support center downloads. They may be for an older verion of mtree, but they should get you started.

Upgrade instructions can be found in the knowledge base. You will not lose your setup or data.

You can override  (almost) every theme file in JReviews using the theme manager admin menu and template suffix parameters that appear in menus and modules. This includes the listing submit form, list and detail pages. For more details take a few minutes to watch the video tutorials and read the kb articles:

I hope that helps.

That answers my questions to the letter, theme over ride, music to my ears, you have your self here one hell of a good product.

I have watched the basic video tutorials, I am a bit old fashioned prefer good old documents,  but with that said they were informative and well done.

I am still getting my head around review and listing, listing made total sense, just the review part I have not needed yet which tells me I am missing something although I have got a basic listing up through to review phase.

I will take the time to learn more add everything we need and hand it over to the CSS people to make pretty. You have yourself a solid sale I do believe.

Again great work on a very powerful module. Also thank you for brilliant support, it makes all the difference.

New docs section is in the works, but I don't know when it will be ready.

Think of the Criteria Manager as a Listing Types Manager (I am considering renaming it this way). For each type you choose which field groups you want to show in the submit form and you also define how the listing type will be rated (the rating criteria). Then in the Category Manager you choose which listing type goes in which category.

Hi again, hope your weekend was not to busy.

Two little questions, how do I add listings without having to submit a review? We wish to add all the listing content then people can review.

2. When I add a listing and the editor review is all NA it is making a long list of boxes which look like they would be reviews, if I then edit the review and choose actual rating criteria it all lists how it should. I have attached a screen shot. It shows two boxes when in fact there 8 which counts the 8 review criteria.

Cheers

In JReviews Configuration, tab 'Standard Fields'. under Listing Form there is a setting for who will see the review form while submitting listing:
'Review form shown to' -> select 'Don't Show' or 'Everyone except editors'

This still doesn't answer the original question that was asked in the very beginning. I have a site that is extensively done with k2. I really want the j Reviews to integrate with k2. So that is the ultimate question can we integrate j Reviews into K2.

It is possible to integrate JReviews with K2 using the Everywhere add-on:
http://www.reviewsforjoomla.com/jreviews/jreviews-everywhere-addon

The integration brings user reviews to K2 listings.
