  • jReviews 1.2.10 released to fix a few important bugs 22:15 - 18.02.2008

    I have decided to release this new version very quickly because there were some new important bugs in 1.2.09. Please download the new version from the client area. The advanced search module also has some new improvements. It allows filtering by sections and has some css settings for sections and categories to make them easier to distinguish in the select list. Thanks Jan for bugging me and sponsoring this feature.

  • New version of jReviews 1.2.09 has some great new additions 22:18 - 6.02.2008

    Favorites lists, image management and improved e-mail notification are just some of the new things we have added.

    This is the first release that comes in both Zend and ionCube encoding versions. The addition of Zend encoding should dramatically improve the installation experience since most hosting companies already support running of Zend encoded files.

jReviews 1.2 RC1: More features plus stability

Just a few weeks after the impressive release of 1.1.4, which was packed with new features, we are happy to announce 1.2 Release Candidate 1 (RC1). We have added new features and fixed most, if not all of the bugs reported in 1.1.4

The new features are:

  • Weighted ratings: the administrator can assign weights to each of the rating criteria to show an average weighted rating instead of the regular average. We have added a one-click button to convert all of your existing reviews to weighted averages if you decide to take advantage of this feature.
  • Custom fields ACL: using Joomla's access groups you can now specify which groups have access to individual custom fields for submission and editing.
  • Image upload resizing:it's now possible to specify a maximum pixel width for uploaded images, to avoid having images that are too large when viewed with the lightbox.
  • Add more images: it's now possible to add more images in edit mode. Decide who has access to content editing in the backend, and they'll be able to add more images.

jReviews 1.1.4 - released!

After several weeks of hard work I am pleased to announce the release of jReviews 1.1.4 as well as 3 new modules!. Thanks to everyone who helped in the testing phase and contributed some very useful feature suggestions. Get you updates using the update menu and your Paypal email address. The file contains the latest version of the component, modules, mambots and sef extension.

Version 1.1.4 brings some important features to jReviews, such as front-ent editing of reviews and content, wysiwyg editor for content submission/editing and advanced search. To add these functionalities it was necessary to add some new templtes and to modify some of the existing ones.
