In brief
For those of you familiar with Joomla, jReviews works its magic as a mambot. This means that if you already have 100 pages of content to which you would like to add review functionality, you can do this almost instantly without having to export/import any of your exising content.
With jReviews you can create a directory or catalog of items and allow editor's and/or users to submit their reviews, consisting of both ratings and comments, and also to submit new items. You can also use jReviews as a simple commenting system with multiple-criteria ratings.
Through the use of custom fields you can define any number of attributes or specifications for your items, thus creating submission templates for new items and enabling users to conduct searches based on those attributes. This can be done per category so you can create a comprehensive product catalog or directory with each category having its own distinct custom fields.
If you prefer to use Joomla's core content blog views for categories and sections and not use the Yahoo style directory of jReviews you can do that as well. Flexibility is jReviews most powerful feature!
jReviews makes use of AJAX technology so users can submit reviews without page reloads and see their review appear in the page right in front of their eyes! Review voting and reporting also works without page reloads.
Additionally, through the use of patTemplate -a template engine- jReviews has complete separation of code and HTML output making it easier to customize its appearance to suit your site needs.
